Adware is so bothersome, and in the past couple of years of internet history much of adware's operative components have started to follow spyware, which is much more of a threat. Adware that is sent in email often tells companies when you looked at the mail, in what country, from what IP address, how long you looked at it, and what you did with it (probably junked it!).
